eating cold chicken cuts now. *chews mightily*
and my friend just shrieked in my ear just now. *smirks*
she's happy you see, overjoyed in fact.
why? why should i tell you? haha.
many people have a misconception about what the term 'caregroup' means.
it does not mean, "meeting sometime in the afternoon at the RC/someone's house on a wednesday or thursday"; nor does it mean, "in this order - introduction, games, testimony, praise, holy com, worship, sermon d...etc.". neither does it mean "a weekly event which everyone needs to come for because well, they just need to come. we
need to hit this certain number you know."
in actual reality, a caregroup is exactly what its name is - a group that cares. a caregroup (or cg for short) is made up of people, not weekly meetings, not a certain flow of events, not anything but people. the weekly meetings we have are times we set aside specially to get to know each other better, and share things to build each other up, and together grow towards the reason why we gathered in the first place - God. the time and sequence by which we carry out usually every week is to help us to grow by giving us direction and a certain objective to hit, a particular lesson to learn. but when God comes in to intervene, let Him take over.
just like today, my caregroup met up and we initially planned to play some games, followed by praise and finally a short lesson. instead, it became a full-blown Q&A session about the bible, evidence that it is real and the understanding some hard-hitting truths. it was completely not planned for, neither did me and veron expect ourselves to be sharing fact after fact, truth after truth to zixin and christabel.
yet in the end, this 'unorganised caregroup' reaped much greater results than what the original plan would and ever will. for myself, my conviction in what i believe is stronger and i have a renewed outlook, and a rejuvenated walk. :)
God dwells in the people themselves, and not in the things we do.
I leave you with a well-known verse:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
We memorise it, we read it over and over again. But do we really understand the depth of love behind it, the richness of grace hidden in this act and the promise of eternity entached on it?
Eternity doesn't start in heaven, it starts in our hearts.
PUAY! :)
